What is Roman numeral?

Roman numerals are numeral system which has been originated in Roman Empire. It is still being used in some applications such as clock faces or movie titles.

Roman numerals were replaced by Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, …) because Roman numerals were hard for mathematical operation.
